In 2001 we were blessed by the birth of a sweet baby girl that we named Ruth. As she grew older, it became obvious that she was not like other children. At a young age she was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, which is a form of Autism. She has Social anxiety and an inability to have “normal” interpersonal relationships. She does however love dogs, cats and other animals. In learning about Autism and the effects of animals, I was driven to structure my breeding program towards dogs that are suitable for therapy and assistance dog work. In the years to follow I placed many dogs in these types of homes. From emotional and mental limitations to physical ones, it has been very satisfying to help people find special companions to make their way through this world.
